While Braverman Greenspun is a real estate boutique, the scope of issues on which we counsel our clients is remarkably broad. I joined the firm as its fourth attorney in 1996, bringing a background in commercial litigation that naturally led to my practice initially focusing on defending condominium and cooperative boards against directors’ and officers’ liability claims. As the firm’s client base expanded, my role evolved to include advising boards on best practices in corporate governance, navigating sponsor control and transition issues, and resolving disputes between boards and unit owners at the pre‑litigation stage. My practice also encompasses advising property owners on complex construction projects, including preparing and negotiating agreements with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and adjacent property owners, as well as working with building owners and their insurance professionals on related risk-transfer issues.

The late Court of Appeals Justice Sheila Abdus-Salaam aptly observed that condominium/cooperative disputes were more difficult to resolve than matrimonial cases, because, once the litigation concluded, the parties continued to live together. Our clients rely on our attorneys to develop creative and pragmatic solutions to the inevitable issues that arise in shared living environments with owners who have varied backgrounds, priorities, and perspectives.
