Making partner is rarely about one big moment. In Law.com’s “How I Made Partner” Q&A, Braverman Greenspun partner Peter Salzler shares how flexibility across practice areas, responsiveness, and being someone clients and colleagues trust helped shape his path to partnership.
Peter discusses joining Braverman Greenspun in 2021 after interviewing entirely over Zoom during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. He said the firm’s reputation and the quality of its people, from managing partners to associates, were key factors in his decision.
In the Q&A, Peter explained that his ability to step in across different practice areas played an important role in his growth at the firm. When he joined Braverman Greenspun, the transactional practice was especially busy and needed support. Drawing on prior transactional experience, he was able to help where needed while continuing to handle litigation and other matters, broadening both his experience and his relationships across the firm.
For associates hoping to advance, Peter’s advice is practical: be open to work in different areas, ask for feedback, and be someone clients and colleagues trust. He also emphasized the value of responsiveness, thoughtful problem-solving, and learning from the experience of others.
