Braverman Greenspun partner Peter T. Salzler was quoted in a recent New York Post article addressing a lawsuit brought by Gainsborough Studios, a landmarked cooperative building on Central Park South, against the developer of the neighboring supertall condominium at 220 Central Park South. The article examines claims that years of excavation and construction activity caused significant structural and property damage to the co-op.
According to the lawsuit, Gainsborough Studios alleges that the developer agreed to reimburse the co-op for any damage resulting from construction but has since refused to do so. Speaking on behalf of Gainsborough Studios, Peter stated that the developer is now declining to honor that agreement, despite the scope and duration of the work next door. The co-op is seeking at least $3 million in damages to cover repairs that it says were necessitated by the construction.
