NEW YORK—August 22, 2023—Braverman Greenspun P.C., the premier legal advisor to condominium and cooperative boards in New York, has added two attorneys who each bring nearly two decades of experience and extend the firm’s capabilities in significant ways. Jillian Menna, a veteran insurance attorney, will assist clients with complex claims and other insurance issues. Daniella Zelefsky, a seasoned advisor on condo and co-op developments, will work with developer and condo board clients. Both join Braverman Greenspun as of counsel in New York.
“The additions that we have made to the firm today make an ideal enhancement to our existing practice, broadening both our client base and the services we provide them. Jillian and Daniella are widely admired, absolute professionals, who are both wonderful people,” said Braverman Greenspun managing partner Robert Braverman. “Braverman Greenspun and our clients are lucky to have them.”
Menna also serves as the general counsel at Genatt V Insurance Solutions, an insurance brokerage, where she has concentrated on assisting condos and co-ops with complex claims, underwriting matters, and other insurance-related issues. Her experience includes representation of insurance carriers, policyholders, and brokerages, giving her a comprehensive perspective on the insurance negotiations and disputes that condos and co-ops inevitably face. She is also an experienced mediator who serves as a panel neutral for the Eastern District of New York, the Suffolk County Commercial Division, and the Nassau County State Supreme Court.
Zelefsky has spent almost 20 years specializing in condo and co-op law. Beyond traditional advising, Zelefsky takes a uniquely hands-on approach, guiding developers in the creation of intricate mixed-use projects often incorporating retail, office, parking, and community facility units. She assists clients throughout every step of the development process, including testing the market, drafting offering plans, preparing no-action applications, and handling sponsor closings. She also advises condo and co-op boards on all aspects of their operation, including refinancing mortgages, navigating intricate leasing matters, and negotiating access agreements.
The arrival of Menna and Zelefsky marks the firm’s second significant expansion this year. In February, Braverman Greenspun combined with Finder Novick Kerrigan LLP, a highly regarded boutique with a history of influential work in co-op and condo law. The combination cemented the status of Braverman Greenspun, which represents more than 300 buildings in the tri-state area, including a number of New York City’s most exclusive residential properties, as the premier legal adviser to condominiums and cooperatives in New York.
